I made Isabel show off her new hair color. I then proceeded to use excessive flash and desaturation like there was no tomorrow. She’s the bestest.

Read [1] on Flickr.
I am racing my way through the Prey Series by John Standford. I started the series about 10 years ago, and in that time I’ve forgot all the back stories and who and where characters came from.  So, in Lost type fashion, I am addicted to the story and trying to catch up to the latest book…needless to say, they are still using carphones where I am in the series. I’ve got work to do.

A Year in Numbers
Logged and tracked a lifestyle of music, biking and riding the bus.
Kind of neat information to look back upon. If you deconstruct the image into words, this is what you get :
I met the national average when it comes to colds of 3 in a year, with the average length of my cold being 7 days. I spent 150 hours working out from a combination of yoga, bike riding (indoors and out), running and mountain biking.  That’s an average of 25 mins a day, which doesn’t include the 213 bus/bike commute trips to I took to Boulder this year.  In the cities of Boulder and Denver I rode 2244 miles to get from A to B on my bike.  That saved me 102 gallons of gas, or $360…almost the cost of my bike…almost.  Old favorites like Jimmy Eat World and Death Cab made valiant efforts against new comers Mumford & Sons and I Blame Coco, not to mention M83 stormed into the top 10 with 192 song plays in the last 3 months of 2011.  Finally, I dropped my total number of photographs taken from last year by 1500, yet still managed to fire off 20 a day.
All in all, a great year.  Can’t wait to see what next year brings and to see if I can finally hit the 10000 photos in a year goal.

Handmade.
Isabel and I had the brilliant idea of handmaking every Christmas gift last year. It actually turned out quite splendid, with a small set back with our jalapeño infused tequila. Apparently no one read the tag for mixing/sipping instruction and instead ignited their mouths with a spicy yet crisp shot of fire.
This year we embarked on the same journey sans flavored booze.  I dabbled with the basics of homemade ketchup and mustard. Isabel crafted cookie perfection in the form of keylime meltaways, chocolate covered rum balls and peanut butter cremes. Results are pending, but, I think we did just fine.
